Rickie the Owl has a fractured wing caused by Vitamin D deficiency rickets. Instead of getting the medical help he needs, he gets misdiagnosed as a victim of abuse. After Rickie is apprehended from his loving parents, they manage to prove the accusations are wrong and get Rickie back home.
